Grassroots Grant of the Icelandic Literature Centre

The manuscript of the Shadow Bridge was awarded the Grassroots Grant of the Icelandic Literature Center today along with three other works. The ceremony was held at the house of Gunnar Gunnarsson, the awards handed out by Lilja Alfreðsdóttir, the minister of culture.

From the award conclusion:

“Various conflicts of light and shadow, the imagined and real, are carried far and wide across the icy north, but take place as well in people’s minds. In a tightly woven text, a multifaceted and carefully constructed world is drawn up; an exceptionally nuanced style makes the environment and the forces of nature palpable.”
